The asset management industry came together last week for the CASCAID gala dinner and auction, which raised nearly £150,000 on the night for Cancer Research UK.

CASCAID is a new initiative that brings friends and colleagues from around the asset management community together to raise money for Cancer Research UK in 2017.

Spearheaded by 100 individuals from around the industry, the campaign encompasses fundraising activities throughout the year, from abseiling to marathon-running, darts matches to cycle rides.

A number of items and experiences were donated for auction:

• Items of jewellery from Boodles went for £10,000

• A cocktail party by The Rosewood Hotel went for £3,000

• Two nights at the Balmoral Hotel went for £1,350

• A box at Lords went for £5,500

• Various work experience weeks went for £3,000

• A Bath rugby shirt signed by the team went for £500

• A Spa day at the Corinthia went for £1,000

The industry-wide CASCAID initiative has now smashed its original £1m target, which has been raised to £2m by the end of 2017.
